Here’s why we can’t stop thinking about Dubai’s Atlantis The Royal: the food, art, glam and the suite life

Think luxury and Dubai’s newly opened Atlantis The Royal comes to mind instantly, and we just can’t get enough of the details that makes this ultra-luxury property an ultimate grand affair. A chic collection of 795 elegant Rooms, Suites, and Signature Penthouses ( 44 of which come with private infinity pool) designed asthetically by the Arabian Sea on the Palm Island.

Here’s are the top reasons why this should be on your bucket-list for your next Dubai visit.

Grand opening weekend: First things first – an inauguration by world’s most celebrated performer – Beyoncé. The global icon’s 60-minute performance – her first live show since 2018 – opened with a stunning rendition of the Etta James’ classic, “At Last,” before she treated the star-studded audience to some of her biggest career-spanning hits, including “Halo” and “Crazy in love.” Queen B was accompanied by Firdaus, a 48-person all-female orchestra, mentored by Academy Award-winning composer, A.R. Rahman. America’s Got Talent winners, The Mayyas, an all-female precision dance group from Lebanon, were also featured on stage, with stunning choreography by Emmy-nominated Fatima Robinson. Can it get any bigger than this?

An unforgettable party: The epic performance was followed by a fireworks and drone extravaganza, lighting up Dubai’s newest icon, in an echo of the 2008 display that launched Atlantis The Palm to the world. As the fireworks settled, Swedish House Mafia took to the stage to perform hits, including “One” and “Don’t You Worry Child,” as guests celebrated until the early hours. At this special occasion, Beyoncé was joined by her parents, and family, including husband JAY-Z, as well as special guests from across the globe, including British Vogue Editor Edward Enninful, model Kendall Jenner, actress Rebel Wilson, singers Chloe x Halle, actress Letitia Wright, actor Winston Dukes. Favourite UK couples such as Millie Mackintosh & Hugo Taylor, Rochelle and Marvin Humes, Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan all gathered to watch the star perform, whilst Israeli model Bar Refaeli, actress Ellen Pompeo and socialite Jonathan Cheban also attended. The Red Carpet gathering featured global A-Listers including Liam Payne, Rebel Wilson, Ellen Pompeo Winston Dukes and Letitia Wright. Stars from around the world also gathered including Germany’s Verona Pooth, British TV presenter Mark Wright with wife Michelle Keegan, former Australian Masterchef judge and chef Gary Mehigan, as well as former champion boxer Amir Khan. Dubai faces Huda and Mona Kattan and Mahira Abdelaziz joined Bollywood stars Sibani Dandekar and Farhah Khan on the carpet that brought together celebrities from all parts of the world for this magical weekend.

Best of dining destinations: At the Grand Reveal weekend, guests were seen dining from the kitchens of the world’s finest chefs including Nobu, Jose Andres and Heston Blumenthal. The weekend also features the star-studded Grand Opening events of Nobu and Ling Ling and the launch of Kendall Jenner’s 818 Tequila on the resort’s sky pool, Cloud 22. A total of 17 restaurants and bars, including the largest collection of branded restaurants in the world are currently part of the resort.

An inside look: It’s not just a resort, but a curated destination where everything has been designed to challenge the boundaries of imagination. Spread lavishly in 4,06,000 square metres, the site area is a whopping 1,73,210 square metres with two kilometers of beach. The world’s largest waterpark, Atlantis Aquaventure, which holds the 2022 Guinness World Records™ title for the Most Waterslides in a Waterpark: 50 slides is built here. It has a 5,045 square meters holistic spa and wellness area including fitness, steam and sauna facilities, and indoor and outdoor pools. Other standout features include The Lost Chambers Aquarium, Dolphin Bay, Sea Lion Point, a helipad and retail shopping area.

Speaking about the hotel, Tim Kelly, MD of Atlantis Dubai said, “This is it. Our moment to unveil Atlantis The Royal as the world’s most ultra-luxury entertainment resort has arrived. We’re delighted that global superstar Beyoncé was here to launch this extraordinary resort in an unforgettable way – a true icon, launching an icon. We are excited to begin welcoming guests in February and treat them to an experience that will completely redefine their perspective of luxury.”
