The 70th Cannes Film Festival (May 17 to 28) has undoubtedly been the most glamorous red carpet affair this year, and we just can’t stop raving about the gorgeous ensembles that we have been seeing on the French red carpet.
Each year, international celebrities, filmmakers and models descend on the famous French Riviera coastline to showcase amazing haute couture trends at movie screenings and fashion events that happen around the fest. This year too, some of the biggest names in Hollywood like Rihanna, Kirsten Dunst, Marion Cotillard, Kristen Stewart, Nicole Kidman, Julianne Moore and Susan Sarandon marked their presence at the Cannes in customized couture and fine jewels. Oh! and of course not to forget the brigade of hottest models like Bella Hadid, Kendal Jenner, Eva Herzigova and Emily Ratajkowski along with Bollywood actors like Sonam Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Deepika Padukone, who attended the festival to up the glam quotient.
So far some of the best fashion trends that we noticed this year from Bollywood were courtesy Sonam Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai, who represent an international beauty brand and attend the Cannes Film Festival as the representatives. While Mrs B was seen in gorgeous ensembles by Ralph and Russo, Yania Couture, Georges Hobeika, Monisha Jaising, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla and Michael Cinco, actress Sonam Kapoor donned labels like Elie Saab, Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Anamika Khanna, Masaba Gupta and Norblack Norwhite for her photo-ops and red carpet appearances.
At Cannes red carpet, where most actresses were happy flaunting their intricate ball gowns and structured outfits, a few international trendsetters such as Rihanna, Marion Cotillard, Bella Hadid and Susan Sarandon were a delight to watch in their unconventional yet remarkable choice of couture. Breaking the boredom with cool embellished sun glasses, thigh-high slits, plunging necklines and brilliant trains were the divas from Hollywood, who played the right style card and created a buzz on social media.
So while imitation is the best form of flattery, we thought of decoding two of our favourite looks from the Cannes red carpet with the help of some awesome products that you can purchase from RocknShop.
Here’s my personal favourite from all the pictures I have seen so far — a super chic look sported by French actress Marion Cotillard. She gave her own twist to the classic white shirt and blue denim.
