Delhi-based designer Anju Modi recently launched her second store in the capital; and, her latest range of ready-to-wear, prêt and bridal line for men and women is a treat for those love understated statements. The talented designer, who is known for her ethnic designs, immaculate finish and unique details, was happy to give a sneak peek of the Autumn-Winter ‘15 line that has some interesting pieces. Some very striking combinations like monochrome striped collars and panels paired with bright red tea-cup rose embroidery, or details like vintage carriage charms used as tassels, kettle-shaped motifs and embellished dragonflies on rich silks, georgette and cotton ensembles were quite noteworthy.
Apart from designing these beautiful garments, the designer also finished a big Bollywood project. Anju mentioned it that she just finished working for Bajirao Mastani and told us exclusively, “For Bajirao Mastani I styled all three lead actors of the movie – Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra. Apart from the costumes, I also designed the metallic headgear and accessories for the actors – a task that took a lot of time and was quite exhausting; but totally worth the effort.”
